The 2011 season was a "season of firsts" and it culminated when the Alter guys' volleyball team garnered its first-ever STATE CHAMPIONSHIP by taking a straight-set victory over defending state champ, Archbishop Hoban, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16. Now a year later, the Knights are as hungry as ever and ready to defend their title. Led by 11 seniors and six returning starters, the Knights will be seeking their second state championship.

At the helm for the Knights, in his third season, is 2011 Ohio D2 and West Region Coach of the Year, Craig Erford. David Gibble returns for his second season as the Knights' varsity assistant.
