After compiling a 16-5 regular season mark for the best record in the program's history, the Alter Guys' Volleyball Team entered post-season play last week and came away with a Regional Championship! The Knights are now headed to the State Tournament with a semifinal match-up against St. Charles Preparatory School right here in town, at Centerville High School THIS Saturday, May 29 at 11:45 am.

Alter left no doubt in their regional semifinal win over Monroe as first-year coach Craig Erford emptied his bench and led the Knights to a 25-9, 25-15, 25-15 thrashing of the Hornets. Looking for some revenge for last year's early exit at the hands of Chaminade-Julienne, Alter successfully completed that task and defeated C-J, 23-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-21, to earn their second trip to the state tournament. Strong regional performances were turned in by senior middle Mark Kroger, junior setter Keaton Pieper (2010 West Region Player of the Year) and sophomore middle Chuck Eisenhauer (2010 West Region 2nd Team) to lead the Knights to their regional crown.

Alter will be looking for significant contributions from Kroger, Pieper and Eisenhauer along with senior Alex Morrison (2010 West Region 1st Team), junior Luke McCrate, sophomores Scott Morrison (2010 West Region Honorable Mention), Nate Kinsella, Cameron Heyd, and Charlie Schaefer. Rounding out the Knights' varsity tournament roster is freshman Danny Cooper and sophomores Luke Miller, Mitch Lush, Zach Moore, and Drew Gillis.

Clear your schedule and bring your friends to THIS Saturday's 11:45 am STATE SEMIFINAL match at Centerville High School. The Division 2 State Championship match will be held at Centerville on Sunday, May 30 at 4 pm.
