In 2008, the ALTER VOLLEYBALL TEAM is ready to deliver with a strong cast of returning varsity letterwinners and a promising core of newcomers. The Knights return eight players and five starters from last year's team which finished just above .500, falling in the District finals of the post-season tournament.

With an additional season of club experience under their belts, improved athleticsm, and the drive to take this year's team all the way to the top; the 2008 Alter volleyball crew will be led by five seniors including middles Monica Lachey and Kelly Wolff, liberos Kelsey Buehrle and Jess Hart, and setter/outside hitter Annalyse Schmitt. Also returning from last year's starting six is sophomore Kelly Westerkamp who will see time at all three front row positions; she is joined by junior outside hitter/defensive specialist, Kristin Ignozzi, and sophomore outside hitter Jackie Kohls.

New to the Knights' roster are juniors Kellie Joseph (outside/opposite hitter) and Brittany Siggins (setter), along with two athletic and very competitive freshmen in Megan Courtney (setter/outside hitter) and Kristen Kaiser (outside/opposite hitter/defensive specialist).

Tina Jasinowski returns for her 13th season as the Knights' head coach, along with Renee DeGraff who is back for her 12th season as the varsity assistant.

No matter how things stack up, this will be one of the tallest and most powerful teams the Knights have ever fielded. Combine that with solid ball control, lots of offensive options, and a team that is ready to do what it takes; and you've got the potential for a very exciting and successful season on the 2008 Alter Volleyball court.
